Active and passive residency

The Principality has two broad families of permits, and the difference between them shapes the entire process.

Active residency

For those coming to work or to run an economic activity in Andorra, whether as an employee or as the owner of their own company. It involves contributing to the CASS social security system and a genuine link to the activity.

Passive residency

Designed for those moving their residence to the Principality without carrying out work there: investors, professionals with income from abroad and individuals with international interests. It carries its own financial and minimum-stay requirements.
